Even though black isn't technically a color (it's a neutral), it's still one of my favorites. I suppose that's because it contrasts with most of the world. Next to all the color and light in this world, there's black. Black's a mystery.
I am still becoming acquainted with my camera, so I did my best with the aperature. I found that by changing the shutter, the aperture seemed more happy (that could be because I was on shutter priority, but don't tell anyone). I did, however, still play a lot with the aperture and metering on the camera (photo 1 is a prime example of my toying with the aperture). I think photo 2 was on the AUTO setting, so I just pointed and shot. Photos 3 and 4 were my toying with the shutter priority--with the light in the room--to create a good environment for the black to dwell in on the picture.
I really like your photos. Good use of angles and there's a great variety of subjects. There's also a good mixture of different lighting techniques. I like the effect of the editing, however the text is hard to read over the image, so try playing around with different positions.
